Melanie Carter
Interior Designer
Melanie Carter has been immersed in the world of design practically since birth—her earliest recollection involves racing through the framing of her parents’ first home at the age of three, eagerly naming the rooms as they took shape. With nearly 20 years of experience in the industry, she has honed her ability to bring a client’s vision to life, particularly during the construction phase of a remodel. Her favorite moment is when the transformation becomes tangible.
Born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada, Melanie moved to Wisconsin for college and is a proud member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). A dedicated hockey enthusiast, she passionately roots for the Tampa Bay Lightning. When she isn’t designing or cheering on her team, Melanie enjoys cruising absolutely anywhere—destination optional. PROJECTS
Recent Tampa Kitchen Design and Renovation
Our client’s dream was to have a bright, modern, sophisticated bathroom that gave her a sense of tranquility in her high rise condo. To create more light in the space we opened up the walls for more natural light and used natural looking elements in a light neutral color palette. Throughout the bathroom the designer used cohesive neutral tones where no one object stood out to create a sense of calm when walking into the space.
For visual interest we introduced different textures such as the rough stacked stone, the matted concrete look for the flooring and glossy tiles. The stack stone wall created behind the tub added extra texture in a space that was all neutral tones. In order to maintain the modern look of the condo we used floating vanities in the same color palette we used throughout the bathroom and added additional lighting with bright LED mirrors. We chose a modern bathtub with straight clean lines to match the straight lines we used throughout the room. The accent mosaic wall in her large format shower tied in the colors in the room and added texture with a combination of glass, metallic finishes and natural stones that created a wow factor in the space.
